Huawei to Boost Presence in Europe

Chinese telecom network solutions provider Huawei recently announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with US-based wireless service provider T-Mobile, whereby Huawei will help T-Mobile set up PS-CN (Packet Switched Core Networks) in five major European countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic, Chinese-language Sohu News reported.

 

Meanwhile, Ukraine-based ITC (International Telecommunication Company) announced that it has teamed up with Huawei to construct an all-IP CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) network in Ukraine, China's CNII.com reported. Pursuant to the MoU, Huawei will deliver a complete voice core network based on IP softswitch, high-speed data core network, as well as an EV-DO Rev.A radio access network.

 

Following the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) signed by both parties in March 2007, Huawei and UK-based Global Marine Systems, a provider of submarine cable installation and maintenance services, recently announced that they have formed a joint venture by the name of Huawei Submarine Networks, Chinese-language Sohu News reported. It is reported that the new company will begin operations at the beginning of 2008.
